{"id":267,"date":"2018-10-09T12:22:12","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrara.org\/?p=267"},"modified":"2018-10-09T12:22:12","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:22:12","slug":"milton-road-consultation-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mrara.org\/index.php\/2018\/10\/09\/milton-road-consultation-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Milton Road consultation extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People have additional time to respond to a public consultation outlining proposals to provide improved public transport, cycling and walking journeys along Milton Road.<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Cambridge Partnership has extended the Milton Road consultation by a week and people now have until Monday 5 November to share their thoughts on the plans.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a316m project, funded by the GCP, includes the proposed introduction of inbound and outbound bus lanes and \u2018floating bus stops\u2019, with segregated walking and cycling lanes.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme \u2013 which aims to help reduce congestion and encourage more people onto sustainable modes of transport \u2013 also includes \u2018Copenhagen-style\u2019 crossings to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and residents in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The findings will be put before members of the Joint Assembly and Executive Board later this year for a decision. Construction is expected to begin in 2020, subject to approval.<\/p>\n<p>There are two upcoming community events at which people can talk to officers and have their say.
